SCM Marine Equipment has been present in the international nautical market for over 60 years. We design, manufacture, and install stainless steel items for yachts. Our internal organization consists of an active management team that coordinates a group of specialized technicians capable of designing and creating products for various sealing solutions.
Utilizing the best three-dimensional design technologies, our technical and development office operates in constant collaboration with shipyards, architects, and industry designers. This versatile and dynamic team enables us to meet all market demands in both design and technology.

History
Founded by Egidio Galbani in 1957 as a workshop for molding and mechanical constructions, it specializes in the processing of stainless steel and aluminum, first for the railway sector, producing components for carriages, then, given the great passion of its founder for the sea, it begins to produce components for the nautical sector, until it became the undisputed leader in the 2000s.
Since the early 70s the company has collaborated with the first shipyards, pioneers in pleasure boating with which it made the first stainless steel products, contributing to the “history” of Italian boating. Today the wide range of standard products, made by SCM Marine Equipment, satisfies the different needs in the nautical components sector, supplying stainless steel and aluminum equipment in the field of watertight elements for boats, from the smallest to mega yachts.
The core business products are primarily portholes, categorized into different types based on technical characteristics according to the type of vessel and registration approval. Other significant products include stainless steel and aluminum watertight doors and automatic windows, where our extensive experience is available to the market. In recent years, new items have been designed and engineered to meet the market’s demand for sleek, modern, and flush design lines.

The internal organization, thanks to the advanced management solutions chosen, guarantees the traceability of the components of its products over time, allowing traceability The considerable corporate flexibility and the experience of the workers allows it to respond to customer needs, from the design phase to the installation, with standard or customized solutions that materialize in the “custom made” products in great demand in the large yacht market. Design, planning and quality control in the critical points of the production phases, process technology and high professionalism of the workforce, distinguish the products, making them known and appreciated all over the world.

Taking care of the relationship with the customer is our priority, after-sales assistance is an important service for SCM marine Equipment offered to its customers and owners, it is a link that is part of the company cycle aimed at satisfying customers throughout the cycle of product life, with particular attention and customer care by the Service staff. Our technicians intervene for emergencies in the Mediterranean area within 48 hours; outside this area, the service must be scheduled. Thanks to traceability, we are able to guarantee the supply of spare parts necessary for the maintenance operations required even years after the service has been provided. In the company life about 450 automatic sliding doors have been produced of which we carry out ordinary or extraordinary maintenance.

Certifications
All products are conceived, designed and manufactured in absolute compliance with the certification and safety regulations in force in Europe and in the rest of the world. SCM marine Equipment is constantly in contact with the nautical certification bodies and the authorities with which it collaborates in order to obtain product certifications.
All hydraulic and mechanical tests are performed internally using specific equipment, in the presence of inspectors from the certification authorities: Lloyd’s Register, ABS, RINA, Det Norske Veritas and BV, with the aim of improving and impeccably performing the commissioned work. We continually invest in research and development to ensure that we constantly improve products and quality standards.
